Founding charter
At OSMTJ CYPRUS Foundation, we believe that culture can connect people, nature can teach responsibility, and communities can grow stronger when they create together. Our foundation was created as a space for intercultural dialogue, sustainable cultural development, youth engagement, and meaningful cooperation between people, places, and traditions.
Rooted in Cyprus and open to the wider world, we work to build bridges between cultures, generations, and communities.
We see culture not only as heritage to preserve,
but also as a living force that can inspire participation, solidarity, creativity, and positive change.

Our story
OSMTJ CYPRUS Foundation was created as a non-profit organisation dedicated to intercultural dialogue, cultural diversity, and sustainable cultural development. From the beginning, our goal has been to support meaningful cultural exchange and to create spaces where people from different backgrounds can meet, learn, create, and grow together.
Our work is rooted in Cyprus, especially in the village environment of Pano Arodes, but our outlook is international. We connect local community life with broader cooperation across the Eastern Mediterranean, Eastern European countries, Baltic countries, EU member states, and the MENA region.
We believe that strong communities are built not only through institutions, but through shared experiences: cultural events, dialogue, volunteering, education, artistic expression, and projects that bring people together around values and action.

Our Mission
Our mission is to foster intercultural dialogue, cultural diversity, sustainable development, and community engagement through projects, partnerships, educational activities, artistic initiatives, and volunteering. We create opportunities for people to connect across differences, discover shared values, and work together for a more inclusive and culturally rich society.
Our Vision
We envision a future where culture is a bridge, not a barrier; where young people are active creators of social and cultural life; where local communities are strengthened through participation and solidarity; and where sustainable development is connected with creativity, dignity, and care for both people and place. This vision guides our work in Cyprus and beyond.
Where we work
OSMTJ CYPRUS Foundation is based in Cyprus, but our work reaches beyond one location. We develop activities, partnerships, and connections across several cultural and geographic areas.
Our focus includes:
-
Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean
-
Eastern European countries
-
Baltic countries
-
European Union member states
-
The MENA region
This international scope reflects our belief that local work and international cooperation should support each other. We value rooted action in real communities, while also building wider networks of solidarity, learning, and exchange.

What We Believe In
We believe in the power of dialogue.
Real dialogue helps people listen, understand, and build trust across cultural, social, and personal differences.
We believe in cultural diversity as a strength.
Different traditions, languages, artistic expressions, and lived experiences make communities richer, more creative, and more resilient.
We believe in sustainable cultural development.
Culture should not be separated from responsibility. We support approaches that care for heritage, creativity, local communities, and the future at the same time.
We believe in youth participation.
Young people are not only beneficiaries of projects. They are co-creators, leaders, artists, volunteers, and changemakers.
We believe in community engagement.
Lasting impact grows when people are invited to take part, share responsibility, and shape the life of their community together.
We believe in cooperation with purpose.
Partnerships become meaningful when they are based on trust, shared values, and a real desire to create something useful, human, and lasting.
Volunteering as a modern Knighthood
We see volunteering as a path of responsibility, service, courage, and care. In today’s world, a volunteer can be a modern knight — a person who chooses action over indifference, solidarity over distance, and meaningful contribution over passive observation.

Why Pano Arodes matters to us
Pano Arodes is more than a location on the map. For us, it is a place of presence, memory, community, and possibility.
In a rural environment, people can reconnect with slower rhythms, real cooperation, local knowledge, nature, and the human side of culture. Pano Arodes offers a setting where international exchange does not feel abstract. It becomes lived experience — through shared work, shared meals, creative activity, volunteering, dialogue, and everyday community life.
Our support for local initiatives and volunteering activities in Pano Arodes reflects our belief that rural places matter. They are not peripheral spaces. They are living centres of resilience, hospitality, heritage, and renewal.

Youth, Culture, Sustainability, Dialogue
Youth
We support young people through participation, learning, volunteering, mobility, creativity, and opportunities to become active voices in their communities. Our activities aim to build confidence, responsibility, initiative, and connection.
Culture
We see culture as both heritage and living practice. Through artistic expression, cultural events, exchange, and creative collaboration, we help people experience culture as something shared, evolving, and meaningful.
Sustainability
We support sustainable cultural development and community-based approaches that respect people, place, traditions, and the future. Sustainability for us includes ecological awareness, long-term thinking, responsible use of resources, and care for local environments and communities.
Dialogue
Dialogue is one of our core methods. We create spaces where people can meet across borders, identities, and experiences. Through dialogue, communities become stronger, cooperation becomes deeper, and diversity becomes a source of connection rather than division

Join Green Restart Manifesto!
We live in a time when it is no longer enough to think only about personal comfort or short-term success. Climate change, pollution, waste, loss of biodiversity, social isolation, inequality, disinformation, and crisis risks affect all of us. The future will be safer only if we build it together.
Green Restart is not only an environmental promise. It is a shared movement for a more sustainable, inclusive, responsible, and human future. It is a call to young people, volunteers, organisations, artists, educators, community leaders, and partners who want to create positive change through real action.
By joining the Green Restart Manifesto, we choose solidarity over indifference, responsibility over passivity, and long-term care over short-term convenience. We believe that every project, every event, every organisation, and every person can become part of this change.
